News Death Notice

DEATON, Hobert T. age 91 of Franklin, passed away June 24 2014 in his home. He was born February 23, 1923 in Breathitt County, Kentucky the son of the late Francis Marion and Armina (nee Turner) Deaton. Mr. Deaton was a veteran of the US Army during World War II, and for nearly 40 years worked as a crane operator at AK Steel. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, spending time with his family and mechanical work. On January 15, 2002 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, he married Deilia Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Deilia Deaton of Franklin; one daughter Betty Jean (Billy) Lester of Lebanon; two sons Gary Lee (the late Pam) Deaton, Sr. of Middletown and Hobert (Judy) Deaton, Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; three brothers, Walter (Mary Kay) Deaton of Middletown, John (Elizabeth) Deaton of Jackson, Kentucky, and Charlie Deaton of Russell Springs, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary E. Curtis of Newport, Kentucky, twin sister, Shannon (the late Don) Curtis of Norfolk, Virginia and Hallie (Harlan) Banks of Middletown. Mr. Deaton was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, two sisters Helen Strong and Rebecca Trumbull, and his grandson Todd Lester. Visitation at the Church at Mayfield, 3311 Burbank Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45044 on Saturday June 28, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Brian Cox, officiating.
