News Death Notice

COMBS, Ival 85, of Monroe, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Mount Pleasant Nursing Home. She was born in Jeremiah, KY to Hiram and Sarah (Hayes) Caudill. On May 14, 1948 she married Will H. Combs of Middletown. Ival attended Breiel Blvd. Church of God. She worked at Rink's Department store as a manager of the fabric department until 1981. Ival was also a volunteer at Middletown Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 65 years, Will H. Combs; brothers, Sidney, Riley, Burley, Norman and Seldon Caudill; and sisters, Janette Back, Nan Kendrick, Esta Hampton and Bertha Shepherd. Ival is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Stan) Gilkey of Bixby, OK, Mary Pamela Sanders of Springboro, OH and Penny (Michael) Baker of Copley, OH; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Mount Pleasant Nursing and Retirement Village in Monroe where she spent the last two years of her life. Their extraordinary care and compassion for Ival were such a blessing and comfort. Thanks to Senior Independence Hospice Care for their wonderful guidance through this transition. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 10:00 AM until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM officiated by Jerry Minor at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
