CHANEY, Ivan C. age 93, formerly of Middletown, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Otterbein Home. He was born July 6, 1919, in Morgan County, Kentucky, the son of Carmey Chaney and Maggie (Carter) Chaney. Ivan was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He worked at Armco Steel and retired with 29 years of service in 1980. He was a member of VFW Post #3809, American Legion Post #218, D.A.V. Commanders Club, Otterbein-Lebanon Auxiliary, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels holding the commission of Colonel, and Middletown Aviation Club. He is survived by one son, Tony (Donna) Chaney of Middletown; two grandsons, Matt Chaney of Cincinnati, Brad (Kelsey) Chaney of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Chaney in 1989; his parents; and three sisters, Maurine Haney, Jeanette Wunderlich, and Minnie Tarter. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Laureen A. Roe officiating. Visitation will be 5-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
