News Death Notice

LAMBERT, James R. age 82, of Hamilton, died Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Westover Retirement Community. He was born Hamilton, Ohio on December 28, 1930, the son of Edward O. and Alma (Kronlage) Lambert, and was a 1948 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. On May 21, 1955, in Holy Trinity Church in Middletown, Ohio, he married Marilyn A. Long. Mr. Lambert was a veteran of the United States Army. James was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church, and the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council. He had worked as a millwright at Ford Motor Co. Sharonville plant retiring in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two children, Karen A. Purves of Hamilton and Kevin M. (Patricia L.) Lambert of North Royalton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael J. and Megan A. Purves, Katherine M. and Grace M. Lambert; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Long; two brothers-in-law, Donald C. Beer and Frank (Jeanne) Long; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Anna Mae Beer; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Long; a sister-in-law and her husband, Jean (Bernard) Bruewer. Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Monday in Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday in St. Peter in Chains Church with Fr. Michael Pucke celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.
