News Death Notice

LOGAN, John Thomas age 65, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg. He was born December 10, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor's Degree and was a member of Epsilon Delta Tau Fraternity. John was employed as an Industrial Engineer at AK Steel for 30 years and was a member of the West Elkton United Methodist Church. He was formerly the Scout Master for Boy Scout Troup 25 of Gratis, a former member of the Middletown Jaycees and Middletown Noon Optimist Club and a Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #528 where he formerly served as a trustee and treasurer. He was an avid Bengals Fan. Preceding him in death were his parents, James B. and Lola J. (Saylor) Logan. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beverly Logan; one son, Brian J. Logan, wife Melissa; two daughters, Jessica Logan and Janna Doerner, husband Dan; one sister, Susan Maxwell, husband Dean; one brother, Jeff Logan, wife Marsha; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Services will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Sandra Apgar officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio.
