News Death Notice

EGELSTON, Joseph R. age 82 of Hamilton passed away Sunday August 3, 2014 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born October 24, 1931 in Hamilton the son of the late Robert L. and Lydia (Van Winkle) Egelston. He was married to Patricia Carolyn Egelston and she preceded him in death in 2011. Mr. Egelston worked as a chemist for the City of Hamilton Water Department for over 30 years. He was co-founder of the Lighthouse Food Pantry and was a member of the Lighthouse Church. He loved fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his three children Marcia (Greg) Bales, Joseph (Susanne) Egelston, Jr., and Debbie (Sonny) Hurd; nine grandchildren Tonya (Darryl) Pies, Lori (John) Winklebacher, Jenny (John) Wood, Jodi (Kevin) Hardwick, Jamie Egelston, Jeremy (Amber) Egelston, Tom (Angie) Nieman, Ashley (Todd) Miller, and Angie Hurd; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter, and his siblings Bobby (Joyce) Egelston, Charlie (Joyce) Egelston, Helen Rish, and Laverne (Gene) Carr. Also surviving is special loved one Evelyn Spurlock. Mr. Egelston was also preceded in death by two grandchildren Joey Egelston, III and Tracy Ann Scalf and one sister Pauline Croucher. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Wednesday August 6, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sonny Hurd, officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Lighthouse Food Pantry, 626 Ridgelawn Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
