News Death Notice

LEIS, Marvin E. age 84, formerly of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence in Verona, Virginia. He and his wife had moved there to be with their daughter in December 2006. He was born September 10, 1929 in Preble County, Ohio and lived in Ohio most of his life. Marvin was employed at Armco Steel in Middletown, where he was a turn foreman in the aluminized department, retiring in 1990 after 42 years of service. While living in Middletown he was a member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God, and in Virginia he was a member of the Zetta Presbyterian Church in Churchville, Virginia. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter A. and Laura (Rhoades) Leis; his wife of 59 years, Margie L. Leis on June 5, 2008; two brothers, Walter Leis, Jr. and George Leis; and six sisters, Della Wood, Wilmedia Reynolds, Erma Caul, Esther Baker, Glenna Bliss and Virginia Allen. He is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Cassidy) Biernesser, husband E. J. of Verona, Virginia; one grandson, Anthony Cassidy; one great granddaughter, Miranda Cassidy, two great grandsons, Aidan Cassidy and Dylan Cassidy; and two sisters, Betty Hussain of Middletown, Ohio and Peggy Cox, husband Charles of Lebanon, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Miltonville Cemetery, Miltonville, Ohio, with Jerry Minor officiating. Interment will follow.
