News Death Notice

BLAYLOCK, Michael W. "Otis" age 64 of Hamilton was welcomed home into the arms of the Lord on Friday February 21, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 28, 1950 in Hamilton the son of the late William and Ruth L. (Samples) Blaylock. He grew up in Hamilton where he lived life to the fullest. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and worked at Champion Paper Company for 26 years, retiring in 1996. After retiring from Champion he operated the Car Stop Auto Sales, and then through his love of music, started his DJ service, O'TOWNE Entertainment. Mike was an amazing singer. Mike also had a great love for softball, winning a state title with the Champion Paper team and a city title with the Pabst/O'TOWNE team, and then shared his talents by coaching. Mike had a love for people and had a host of close friends including Larry Rhodis, Darryl, Eric, Toby, Michelle, and Kristie and so many others that had a place in his heart. Mike's greatest achievement in life was being the father of his two sons Michael (Staci) Blaylock and Jeff (Heather) Blaylock; and the loves of his life grandsons Dain and Grant, and granddaughters Gabbi, Alex, and Marley. He is also survived by his former wives Theresa and Pam Blaylock; his uncle Bob; stepchildren Tami and Jody Grubb, and his girlfriend Cathy Vance. Mike was also preceded in death by his sister Melissa and his brother Pete. Visitation 5-8 PM Tuesday at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield.
