News Death Notice

AZBILL, Neal F. Age 77, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 14, 1933, in McGonigle, Ohio, the son of Andrew Azbill and Daisy Cole. He was a 1951 graduate of Hamilton High School and after completing his education with a First Class Stationary Engineers license, he worked for Champion International from 1954 to 1967. He was also employed at Milacron, Inc. from 1967 to 1980, finally retiring in 2004 as Vice President for Tristate Distributions. Mr. Azbill was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict in the Korean waters aboard a minesweeper, USS Redstart. He proudly served his nation from 1951 to 1954 as a Petty Officer, 3rd Class. Mr. Azbill was a lifetime member of the Monkeys Mutual Aid Society, the VFW Chuck Cain Post #7670, the AmVets Post #1983 and received a commission in 1999 as a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, sports fan and had an amazing talent for singing. But his most cherished moments were spent with his family and close friends, especially his "little peanut," Tiffany. Mr. Azbill is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Verna M. Azbill. He also leaves eight children, Brenda (Steve) Truett of Hamilton, Stephen Azbill of Columbus, Michael (Jacqueline) Azbill of Oakland, NJ, Douglas (Melissa) Ashcraft of Middletown, Shari Azbill of Hamilton, Kathy Azbill of Davie, FL, Teresa (Glenn) Garrett of Eaton and Timothy (Dorrie) Azbill of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special brother and sister, Jack (Faye) Azbill and Juanita Castator, both of Hamilton and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Faye Crone and Joyce Biere. His family would like to express a heartfelt Thank You to Nan, Susan, Liz, Margaret and Chaplains Myra and Tim at Hospice of Hamilton for the extraordinary care, comfort and love given to Mr. Azbill and his family during his stay. The family would also like to send a special thanks to Dr. Evan Lang. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11am at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton 45013.
