News Death Notice

GOAD, Raymond Walter age 85, of Middletown, Ohio died Friday, January 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in both W.W. II and the Korean War and received the Medal of Valor. He was an agent in the Dayton area for American General Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1999. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a wonderful stepfather and friend. He enjoyed singing and ministering in churches and nursing homes throughout Ohio. Ray was a life member of the D.A.V. Chapter 131. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Kathleen; his second wife Laura; and a daughter, Donna Goad. He is deeply loved and sorely missed by six step children, Tony Baird, Ronnie (Charlene) Smith, Jacquelyn Taylor, John Smith, Brenda (Randy) Lightcap, Anna Hinton and Shari Cheesman; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and special family and friends, Mary Frances, Inez Stevens, Ed and Tina Pugh and Charles Hendricks. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at 111 S. Main St. Middletown (Yellow Rachel House), with Rev. Gary Ashley officiating.
