News Death Notice

HOWLAND, Ruth E. 88, of Monroe, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her daughter's home. She was born in Miltonville, Ohio on May 25, 1924 to parents John and Nettie (Randall) Dietz. Ruth worked as a secretary with Middletown City Schools for 36 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Amanda United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Amanda U.M.C. Women's group. Mrs. Howland is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Roy) Vaughn & Becky (Phil) Scheidt; four grandchildren, Heather (Tandyn) Lippert, Jon (Nicole) Slone, Chris Scheidt & Drew (Laura) Scheidt; and nine great grandchildren, Xander & Makayla Lippert, Benjamin & Kiley Slone and Jonathan, Brian, Jason, Alexia & Kayla Scheidt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendle W. Howland in 1996; parents; and siblings, Luther Dietz, Laura Treadway, Elnora Brewer, Alfred Dietz, Elmer Dietz, Wanda Fisher & Gerald Dietz. Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Marti Pepitone officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
