HAYNES, Verlin "Bud" age, 66 of Carlisle, Ohio passed away unexpectedly while playing his beloved sport of basketball the morning of Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born June 7, 1947 in Elihu, Kentucky the son of Verlin and Eveline (Murphy) Haynes. He is preceded in death by his father, Verlin Haynes Sr. Bud is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Haynes; his 2 daughters, Erinn (Nick) Conness and Marcie D. Mullins; son Brendhan (Sarah) Haynes; and 2 grandsons, Devan Mullins and Henry Conness. Bud was employed with Hamilton County for 20+ years, was a member of Apostolic Mennonite Church and was an Army
veteran who served in the Vietnam War
. Bud played basketball throughout his life and was a silver-medalist in the 2011 Senior Olympics in Houston, Texas. Along with his love of basketball, Bud enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, playing guitar and most importantly time with his family, especially time spent at Cape Hatteras. Bud was a very kind-hearted man who will be greatly missed by many. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11am at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St. Franklin, Ohio 45005, with Pastor Walt Philpot officiating. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
