News Death Notice

ROGERS, Walter W. 73, of Middletown, passed away, July 9, 2013. He was born in Middletown, Ohio, July 28, 1939 to Walter and Harriett (Murphy) Rogers. Walt graduated from Middletown High School and received his engineering degree from UC after attending night school for 12 years while working at Armco. After 35 years he retired from AK Steel as an Industrial Engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved working around the yard, tinkering with antiques, playing with his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of forty years, Fran (Danner); daughters, Amy (Sean) Askren, Lisa (Mike Kraft, fiancée) Rogers, Laura (Dan) Pestorius, Julie (Chris) Urso; grandchildren, Aaron (Julia) & Grant Motley, Lily, Hannah, Ava & Ella Pestorius, Evan & Claire Urso; sisters, Susan (David) Caldwell, Sheila Wilkinson; three sisters-in-law, Lynn (Gary) Getter, Carol (Tim) O'Connor, Judy (Bill) Thorn, and many loved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, on Monday, July 15. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 with the funeral to follow with the Reverend Ken Fey officiating. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 4500 Riverview Ave., Middletown, Ohio 45042.
