News Death Notice
MATTHEWS, Glen A. Age 84, Berkeley Square, Hamilton, Ohio formerly of Cincinnati, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Beloved husband for 64 years of Hazel Rice Matthews. Beloved father of G. Alan, Victor D. and Lori F. Schalk; grandfather of Melissa Burke, Kandis Sullivan, Jason, G. Anthony, Philip, Kelly Riff and Matthew Schalk and dear great grandfather of many. Glen retired from the Cincinnati Fire Department in 1982 after 29 years. He served as pastor of a church in Tennessee for eleven years, Sunday School teacher for many years - the last one being at Millville Avenue Church of God, Hamilton. He was the volunteer chaplain at Berkeley Square for eleven years. Visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. at Millville Avenue Church of God, 1369 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, with Pastor Joe Clark, officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the local Salvation Army or Millville Avenue Church of God, 1369 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Dear Loved Ones, my heart is saddened, but my Spirit is overjoyed in knowing that Glen is now with our Heavenly Father! May God give you peace and comfort and release a renewed confidence during this period and know that even though we have lost touch through our journey here we are still connected and I Love each of you dearly.
