News Death Notice

HALLER, June Leighton age 83, formerly of Middletown, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She was born June 10, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of George Elliott Leighton and Margaret (Streit) Leighton. June was the middle child of three. She attended Wittenberg University and Miami University where she graduated in 1951. June was married to Richard Andrew Haller, Sr. on August 13, 1960. June taught school and also served as a substitute PE teacher in the Middletown School System. In later years, she taught Body Recall to Seniors. She was a member of many clubs including the Middletown Tennis Club (avid player), Browns Run Country Club, Middletown Garden Club (she was president), Stock Club and Current Events Club. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Ascension where she served on the Alter Guild. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard; three children, Margot and Colin Strong, Rick and Julie Haller, Haven Sellars; six grandchildren, Brower and Leighton Strong, Rye and Jasmine Haller, Kelli and Sarah Brooks; two great grandchildren, Caris Daly and Maci Dunn; and her younger sister, Margaret Gould. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her older brother, Howard B. Leighton. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 9 at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
