News Death Notice

TURNER JR., Irvin age 82, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Atrium Medical Center where he had been a patient for 17 days. He was born May 7, 1930 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, was raised in Indiana, and lived in Ohio since he was 19 years of age. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a crane operator at Armco Steel retiring in 1996 after 42 years of service. Irvin was a member of the Secret Dwelling Place Church, where he served as President of the Board of Trustees. Preceding him in death were his parents, Irvin Turner, Sr. and Tabitha (Riley) Turner; one grandson, Jason Baker; and he was the last of nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 31 years on December 28, Emma (Melton) Turner; two children, Steve Turner, wife Debi and Sherry Howell, husband Jack; one step-son, Junior Baker, wife Carol; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Shepherd officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
