James C. HARTMAN Obituary

News Death Notice

HARTMAN, James C. age 86 of Hamilton, Ohio died Saturday December 14, 2013 in Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 8, 1927 the son of Jacob W. and Marie (Connor) Hartman. Jim was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High school, a 1952 graduate of Cedarville University and attended Chase Law School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1945-1946. On July 27, 1955 in St. Stephen Church he married Carol A. Imfeld. Mr. Hartman worked for Ohio Casualty as supervisor of the Hamilton claims department retiring in 1996, after thirty-seven years of service. He was a life member of the Hamilton Central YMCA, the B.P.O.E # 93, and the Butler County Sportsman's Club. Besides participating in the Elk's Men's Golf League he also was a member of the NRA, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Hamilton Handball Association and the Unit-1 running group. In 1967 he won the YMCA "Man of the Year" award. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the special care and attention given to Jim by Dr. Harry M. Davin. Survivors include his wife Carol; a cousin, Jack Hartman of Yuma, Arizona; many nieces, nephews; other relatives; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas H. Hartman on January 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00am Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Hamilton Central YMCA, St. Julie Billiart Church, or Cedarville University.
