News Death Notice

COLLIER, Lloyd Norman age 88, of Trenton, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 15, 1925 to the late Taylor Ferguson and Anna Price (Wireman) Collier. Lloyd served his country in the United States Army during World War II from May 1943 to December 1945. He received Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars; Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star; Good Conduct Ribbon; Purple Heart w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Bronze Star Medal; and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from the Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union No. 24 in 1987. He was a long-time member of the Yankee Road First Church of God. He married Poncella Gilliam on July 6, 1946 in West Liberty, Kentucky. Lloyd was a kind, good-hearted man who loved his family. He is survived by his wife, three children, Paula (Randy) Pence of Trenton, Andrea (Ernest) Robinson of Middletown, and Richard (Marilyn) Collier of Batavia; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 adopted great -grandchildren; 6 step great -grandchildren; 3 step great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Yankee Road First Church of God with Reverends Rodney Williams and Kevin Collins officiating. Visitations will be from 5-8:00 PM Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park with Military Honors.
