Ronald G. VanARSDALE

1937 - 2016

VanARSDALE, Ronald G. 79, of Middletown, died Monday, November 7, 2016, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on August 20, 1937 to parents Harry G. and Thelma Vicki (Powell) VanArsdale. Ron had served his country in the United States Marine Corp and served his community as a City of Middletown Police Officer, retiring as Deputy Chief after 30 years with the department. He was highly decorated in his career. He also initiated the Community Watch Program. Ron was a member of Stratford Heights Church of God where he sang with the Senior Adult Choir. He enjoyed playing tennis, basketball and shooting pool at Central Connections, as well as kayaking, wood carving, hiking and judo. Ron was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren and was greatly involved in their lives. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Linda K. (Purcell) VanArsdale; son, David G. (Roxanne DiCristoforo) VanArsdale; daughters, Lisa Y. (Mark) Sherman & Jennifer L. (Russ) Mabry; brother, Harry G. (Patricia) VanArsdale; grandchildren, Sarah E. (Joel) McElwee, Kevin J. VanArsdale, Nicholas W. VanArsdale & Sophia R. Mabry; and great grandson, Jonathan M. Sparks. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Constance Allen; brother, Steven Gulinski; and grandson, Steven L. Estepp Jr. Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd., Middletown with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating.
