News Death Notice

LAWRENCE, Virginia Mae Age 92 of Hamilton, OH passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. She was born September 26, 1919 in Campbellsville, KY, the youngest daughter of nine children to the late Jerry and Birdie Hoskins. She attended the public schools of Campbellsville area. She united with a local church in Campbellsville at an early age. She was united in marriage to the late Archie Lawrence on August 13, 1951 in Franklin, TN. She later moved to Hamilton, OH due to the death of her husband to be near her family. She then joined Berean Baptist Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member for over thirty plus years. While in good health she was very active in church, teaching Sunday school. "Aunt Virginia" as she was affectionately called worked for various families and was an excellent cook. Everyone knew her for her special cakes. She loved working in her flower garden, growing red roses as they were her favorite flower. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, four brothers and four sisters and a very special great nephew, K. Allen Curry. Left to cherish her memory are: nephew, William Gibbs of Dayton, OH; niece, Brenda Ann Debardlacon of Atlanta, GA; five generations of nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Annie Burg; and a host of many many friends. Those that knew Virginia could not help but to love her. The services will be held at Green, Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel 532 S. Second Street Hamilton, OH on Thursday, April 26, 2012; with visitation at 10:00 a.m. until funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Elmer S. Martin, Officiating/Eulogist. The Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Green Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel.
