News Death Notice

BACK, Bryan age 81 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Hamilton on June 12, 1930 the son of Richard and Allie (Blair) Back. Bryan proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict and retired from Hamilton Tool in 1993. He was a member of East River Road Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. Bryan enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting and chatting with his two buddies, Cecil Daniel and J.B. Little, and working on wood projects. His family and friends will remember him as a loving, generous and quick-witted man. On December 15, 1952 in Hindman, Kentucky, he married his loving wife, Mary Margaret Sparkman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Back of Hamilton; two children, Bryan Keith (Connie) Back of Liberty Township and Melissa Ann (Timothy) Mick of Seven Mile; two grandchildren, Victoria Mary Shaw and Shelbie Louise Shaw, whom he adored and who were his babies; a sister, Shirley (George) Fowler of Sarasota, Florida; three brothers and sisters-in-laws, Bill (Kathy) Sparkman of Xenia, Dale (Peggy) Collins of Red Fox, Kentucky, and Millard (Jewel) Hall of Dayton; a sister-in-law, Agnes Bach of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Karen Sue Back; two brothers, Dexter Bach and Ford Back; and a sister, Ogie Jones. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Smith of East River Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of The Knolls of Oxford for the excellent care that Bryan received during his short stay there, and to the nurses from Vitas Hospice.
