News Death Notice
LARSON, William "Bill" E. Born on December 18, 1928 in Springfield, MA, and died on January 19, 2014 in Hamilton, Ohio. Bill was able to take advantage of the GI Bill after serving the Army in Japan at the end of WWII. He majored in Pulp & Paper Science at Syracuse University and always rooted for the Orange to win. Bill worked for Champion Papers from 1953 through 1991. During his tenure with Champion he worked in Hamilton, Pasadena, TX and Stamford, CN, and traveled to Europe and South America. Bill was a man of nature. He loved the bawl of a newborn calf as it greets its mother; the lick on the hand of a faithful dog; the first green sprouts of corn in the spring; the flag of a deer as it bounds across the field; the smell of newly mown hay; and the sound of a finely tuned tractor. He had many fond memories of Muddy Pond in the foothills of the Berkshires in Massachusetts, where he spent his boyhood summers. Bill loved Marge, his wife of 59 years; he loved his children: Sara, Reid, Cris, and Todd; his 8 grandchildren; and his 5 great grandchildren. He leaves brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces in Florida, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine. Bill leaves a soft footprint on the land of the farm he loved. The family will hold a private celebration of Bill's life. Memorial contributions may be made to Shared Harvest Food Bank, 5901 Dixie Highway, Fairfield, OH 45014.
