News Death Notice

UHL, Mary Jo age 96, a resident of Berkeley Square Retirement Community passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. She was born in Hamilton, OH on March 31, 1917, the daughter of John A. and Grace May (Sullivan) Schwalm. She received her primary education at St Peters School and graduated from Notre Dame High School. In 1939 she graduated from St Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN with a major in education and a minor in English. On Dec. 15, 1942 she married Judd W. Uhl, M.D. in the Cathedral of St. Louis, St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1998. She was known for her knowledge of past and current events and for her quick wit. She was an excellent bridge player and cherished her friends of the Wednesday afternoon bridge club. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and was very proud of their many accomplishments. She is survived by a son Jay (Sandy) Uhl, Cincinnati; three daughters Martha Uhl, Cincinnati, Mary Anne (Paul) Cangemi, Oxford, and Jane (Dale) Cochran, Cedarville, MI and Port Charlotte, FL., and daughter in law Marcy Uhl, Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Judd (Leslee) Uhl, Cincinnati, Max Uhl, Cincinnati, Anne Terlesky, Cincinnati, Cassie (David) Robinson, Denver, Katie Cangemi, Chicago, Will Cangemi, Oxford, Caroline (Christopher) Lee, Cincinnati, Ellen Cochran, Cincinnati, and Mary Cochran, Denver; four great grandchildren Hamilton Uhl, John and Anna Terlesky, and Jane Josephine Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son John Uhl, two brothers John and Charles Schwalm and a grandson Matthew Cochran. A private funeral blessing will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St Mary Cemetery. Memorial contributions to .
