News Death Notice

LINDSEY, Dorothy J. maiden name Dorothy Jean Stull Alias, Dot and Dee Dee, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She was born and a resident, until retirement, in Middletown Ohio, December 7, 1924, daughter of the late Walter and Hilda Stull. She is survived by her siblings, Bobby Lindsey, Russell Stull and Anne Ruble. She is also survived by her daughter Caroline of Houston, Texas and son, Tim of Knightsen, California, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dorothy was a Miami University Alumni, Oxford, Ohio and an elementary school teacher in the Franklin School District, Carlisle School District and Hamilton School District for some 25 years and retired in 1980. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. After retirement, she volunteered at the Cincinnati Park Service for 15 years before moving to Texas. She had strong ties to the military as she was the spouse of a late WWII Vet and a mother of a surviving Vietnam veteran, also, a grandmother of a surviving Iraqi war veteran. A funeral ceremony will be held at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home 517 S. Sutphin St. Middletown, Ohio 45044 at 11:00 am April 4 (Friday), followed by an auto procession at about 1:00 pm to her final resting place in College Corner Cemetery, Indiana approximately 5 miles from Oxford, Ohio, off Ohio State Route 27 approx. 30 miles from Middletown. This is in the city of West College Corner, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fisher House For Military Families. They have an A+ rating for funds getting to military families in need.
