News Death Notice

KELLEY, Ruth A. 92, died in Tampa, Florida on April 2. Funeral service will be held at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. Ruth was born in Riverside, Iowa and moved to Middletown at age 13. A graduate of Middletown High School, she attended Middletown Secretarial School and was hired by Gardner-Richardson Company, (became Gardner Board and Carton Co., and ultimately Diamond International), where she was employed for 30-years as an executive secretary for Mr. Robert Gardner and Mr. William Gardner. She was then employed by General Foods in their Burger Chef Systems, and ultimately by Hardee's Food Systems, in Cincinnati, and retired after 14 years. She became a dedicated volunteer with The Middletown Regional Hospital and moved to the Atrium Medical Center where she completed her volunteer service of twenty years with the Hilltop Gift Shop. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Kelley; her parents, John Yeggy, and LeOmah Yeggy Lindsay; one sister, LaVerne L. James, and brother Robert Paul Yeggy. She is survived by daughter Marsha Meininger Whittlesey, and son-in-law, James M. Whittlesey of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren Kelley A Fraley of Tampa, Florida, David P. Meininger and wife, Leanne, of San Carlos, California, and Charles (Chad) William Mieininger, and wife, Glenna, of Tampa, Florida; five great- grandchildren, Grant and Adam Fraley of Tampa, Florida; Lucas and Grace Meininger of San Carlos, California; and Chase Meininger, of Tampa Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 120 S.
