CLARK, Karen S. After a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer, at the age 69 Karen S. Clark of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. She was born in San Diego, California on February 9, 1945 the daughter of the late Louis P. and Dorothy Jean (Spoerl) Beer. Karen was a 1963 graduate of Taft High School and was employed at Fort Hamilton Hospital for twenty-five years in a variety of positions and retired as a ward secretary. Karen was a junior counselor at Camp Luella May and in high school she played tennis and basketball. She enjoyed swimming, water skiing and was an avid reader. She attended Miami University studying physical education. Karen loved vacationing with family and friends at the beach. Spending time with her friends was also important to her either going out to dinner or to the movies. In her later years her greatest love was her three grandchildren, she was present at as many football games, track meets, soccer games, dance recitals, gymnastics, and Karate events of her grandchildren as she could. She loved taking them to the latest movies. She is survived by her children Donna Mainous of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Andy Clark and his wife Becky of Liberty Township; a sister Dianne Macko and her husband Milo of Winter Haven, Florida; grandchildren Spencer Mainous, Drew Clark, and Katelyn Clark. Services will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. Hamilton, Ohio on Friday June 20, 2014 at 7:30pm with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.
