News Death Notice

OSBORNE, Sr. Delbert Lee 55, of Hamilton, OH left his mortal body in exchange for an immortal one @ Glen Meadows Nursing Home on Thursday July 3rd @ 12:57 PM with family present at his bedside. He was born on November 12th, 1958 in Madison, IN, the son of Taylor Buck and Shirley Joan (Hornsby) Osborne. He received his education in the Trenton, Fairfield, Talawanda and Hamilton City Schools. Delbert was a roofer by trade and worked for Darrell Caldwell, Weller, Sizemore and McIntosh Roofing Companies. One roof in particular that he was so proud to have done was that of the Westover Retirement Center. In his spare time, Delbert loved to play chess. On May 8th, 1986, Delbert became the proud father of his only child, Delbert Lee Osborne Jr. In November of 2012, Delbert suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed and unable to walk again. Delbert leaves behind his Step-father Ronald Eversole, his brothers Michael (Dawn) Osborne, Gregory (Rhonda) Eversole and James (Jennifer) Eversole; his sisters Laura (Timothy) Brockman and Brenda (Jeff) Helton. He also leaves behind his Uncle Paul (Joanie) Eversole, his Aunt Wilma (Ronnie) Blevins, Aunts Helen Johnson and Sue Hornsby and several nieces and nephews and several generations of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father (1959), his mother Shirley Joan Eversole (2009), his son Delbert Lee Osborne Jr. (2006), Grandparents Delbert and Lillian Hornsby, General and Grace Eversole, several Aunts and Uncles; Ed and Dorothy Cales, Albert and June Browning, Lawrence and Molly Eversole, John Johnson, Dale Hornsby, and Robert Eversole; Cousins Doug Furginson and Kathy Lamgaday. He was also preceded in death by his best friend Danny McIntosh. The family would like to thank the Hamilton Fire Department, Fort Hamilton Hospital, Glen Meadows Nursing Home and Sarah Stanley and her staff @ Hospice of Southwest Ohio for the care they gave to Delbert while he was in need. A special thank you to the Pastors and Staff @ Tri County Baptist Church and Timberhill Baptist Church for their support. Visitation is on July 9th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM @ Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Rd. The Funeral will take place @ 12:00 PM with Rev. Brian McManus of Tri County Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill.
