News Death Notice

RANDALL, Charles Hughes age 90, a longtime resident of Ross, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Mercy Fairfield Hospital. He was born on March 2, 1924 in Colmar, Kentucky, the son of Quincy and Pearl (Pursifull) Randall. On August 24, 1944, he married Bettie Fornash. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII, in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters. Charlie worked as a supervisor for General Tool Company, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Norwood Lodge # 576 F. & A.M., Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati and was a Kentucky Colonel. Charlie enjoyed playing golf, working on anything mechanical, traveling and going to his Navy reunions. He is survived by his son, Paul (Joyce) Randall; two grandchildren, Patrick and Michael Randall; five sisters, Patricia Smith, Alta Hallgath, Alma Robb, Joyce Hunt and Joan Bassett; and a loving companion of over 20 years, Ruth King. He was preceded in death by his wife Bettie Randall; two brothers, James and William Randall and one sister, Christine Randall. There will be a visitation at Charles C. Young Funeral Home 4032 Hamilton Cleves Rd., Ross, OH on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery in Ross.
