Fay Wright DAVIS Obituary

News Death Notice

DAVIS, Fay Wright We are heartbroken that our precious mother has gone to be with Jesus and her many loved ones, six days before her 94th birthday. Fay was born August 18, 1920 to George and Sally Cook Wright in Jackson County, Kentucky. One of 13 children, she was the only surviving sibling. A devoted wife, a loving mother, a special grandma who loved to hug and make beans and weinies for her grandson, Chris. A good friend and wonderful neighbor who was respected and loved in the neighborhood. She was a seamstress well-known for pegging pants in the 50's for the boys wanting to be cool. She sewed for Eastern Star for two years making their beautiful gowns. Also, she worked as a seamstress for Thirkields Department Store. A lady of many talents, but her joy was gardening. She loved to work in her garden, preserve all the vegetables for her family and share a portion with the neighbors. Fay was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church in Kentucky until she joined Temple Baptist in Carlisle, Ohio, where she made her home. Fay was preceded in death by her beloved husband for 67 years, Dentie; two sons, Huey and Ted; and a grandson, Jason Ty Davis. She is survived by a son, retired Col. Darol Davis and his wife Kathy of Florida; a daughter, Patty Isaacs and her husband Roy of Franklin, Ohio; and a grandson, Col. Chris Davis and his wife Holly of Washington D.C. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 17th, 2014 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin, Ohio. Funeral service will be Monday, August 18, 2014, at 1:00pm also at the funeral home. A special thank you to Dr. Ward Blair for his kindness and many years of professional service, and to Gem City for her nursing care and therapists who all grew to love her. Those who knew and loved Fay will miss her forever. Please visit www.anderson-fh.com to send an online condolence.
