News Death Notice

LONG, William E. "Bill" 84, passed away Wednesday, November 14 at his residence in Darrtown surrounded by his family. He was born in Lucasville, OH on April 24, 1928 to Homer and Alma (Morgan) Long. Bill was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Williamsport American Legion, the Buckeye Brittany Club and the Middletown Sportsman Club. He worked for many years at Butler Landmark until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jean (Don) Adams. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Vallie (Cochenour) Long, children; Rebecca (David) Johnston, Jaclyn (Clifford) Huff, Jeffrey (Susan) Long and Brett E. Long, grandchildren Tiffany Johnston, Amanda (Patrick) Downey, Kyndra (Nick) Tatum, Jessica (Scott) Arnold, Alan Long, Jackson Long; 3 great grandchildren; Noah Downey, Adalyn Tatum, Blake Arnold, and 4 brothers; David (Rita) Long, Carl (Ruth) Long, Charlie (Jeanine) Long and Darryl (Carol) Long. Visitation will be held at the Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike on Monday November 19, 2012 from 12-2pm immediately followed by the funeral service. Bill will be laid to rest in the Darrtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Collinsville Presbyterian Church or the Oncology Department of McCullough Hyde Hospital.
