News Death Notice

BOWLING, Bobby J. age 73, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1939 in Breathitt County, Kentucky and moved to Ohio when he was 12 years of age. He was honorably discharged after serving in the U. S. Army for three years. He was a tow motor operator for Interstate Folding Box, American Packaging and Jefferson Smurfit where he was a tool and die maker. During that time he also served as a Police Officer for Lemon Township, and later Chief of Police. Bobby was a member of the Moose Lodge #501. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his six dogs. He enjoyed mowing grass, and building fences and sheds with his boys. Preceding him in death were his parents, Smith and Maggie (Brewer) Bowlin; two sisters, Delores Bowlin and Lois Maggard; and one brother, Edward Bowlin. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy L. Bowling; five children, Bobby J. Bowling II, wife Abbe, Randy T. Bowling, wife Andrea, Melissa L. Bowling, fiancé Dustin Tucker, Conda Jo Young, husband Kelly, and Renee Bishop, husband Charles; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Mitchell Burch officiating. Entombment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
