News Death Notice

HESSLER, Frank A. age 83 of Hamilton, Ohio died Friday, August 23, 2013, at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 8, 1930, the son of Frank J. and Clara (Dornberger) Hessler, and was a 1948 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. On August 2, 1958, in St. Ann Church, he married Shirley A. Wright. Mr. Hessler was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He worked as a printer at the Hamilton Journal News for 47 years in the composing room. Frank was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church, the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council, a Charter member and past director the Elktones Barbershop Chorus, the Nutones Quartet, and Hamilton BPOE #93. Mr. Hessler enjoyed bowling in Elks league and other senior leagues, gardening, woodworking, and bird watching. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; five children, Frank (Carrie), Diane (Mike) Wicktora, Claire (Mike) Turco, Susan (Kevin) Beatty, and Judy (Jarrod) Bradford; ten grandchildren, Nick, Chris, and Tori Hessler, Adam and Samantha Wicktora, Jamie, Megan, Paige, and Alex Turco, and Colin Beatty; two sisters, Ruth Ann Beckman and Mary Lou Cox; sisters-in-law, Hilda Hessler, Judy Baker, and Martha Wright; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Robert "Sug," Larry, and Ralph Hessler; a sister, Dolores Motzer. The family would like to thank Hospice of Hamilton for their care and support. Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Wednesday in St. Peter in Chains Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Stephen T. Badin High School, 571 New London Rd.
