News Death Notice

KEENER, Robert (Bob) Dayton, Ohio native and Former Crystal Tissue Co. President and Vice Chairman Robert (Bob) Keener, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Bob served the company in various Sales, Marketing, Operations and Administration capacities throughout his career, from 1969 until his retirement in 1996. He joined the Board of Directors of Cindus Corporation of Cincinnati in 1997 and served until his passing. Born January 5, 1933, Bob was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. After returning from the Korean War in 1953, Bob attended the University of Dayton and joined the Oakwood, Ohio police force where he worked until 1956. Bob later joined the Raymond Bag Company and moved to St. Louis, MO, before joining Crystal and returning to Ohio in 1969. In retirement, Bob settled in Savannah Lakes Village near McCormick, South Carolina in 1997. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Frederick; daughter Tracie Goss (Allen); son Doug (Machelle) of Middletown; and son Jeff (Amy) of Atlanta, Georgia. Survivors also include eight grandchildren: Michael Keener, Megan Keener, Matthew Keener, Nick Goss, Ben, Goss, Tim Goss, Zach Keener, and Alli Keener. A memorial service will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Road in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, December 27th at 1:30 p.m. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory is honored to serve the family, and invites you to view and sign the guestbook at www.gentrygriffey.com.

We worked with Bob for many years at Crystal Tissue My husband and I both worked in the factory Bob was always nice and took time to talk to all of us So sorry for your loss Larry and Nancy Wagner
