Floyd Dwain Bookout(1933 - 2013)

Floyd Dwain Bookout, 80 passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 of natural causes. Floyd was born in Chacotah, Oklahoma on March 10, 1933. At the age of 7 his family moved to California and continued to farm near the Laton area. He graduated from Laton High School and went on to join the Army and served in the Korean War. Upon his return he enrolled at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois to learn watch making, graduating in 1956. Floyd and the love of his life Caroline opened Hanford Jewelry and Loan in 1961, where he continued his watch making and becoming a bench jeweler for the next 52 years. When Floyd was not at his store he enjoyed hunting, golfing and driving his classic cars, especially his 1966 MGB. He made many special relationships throughout his life touching everyone who came in contact with him. He was predeceased by his parents A.I. and Lillie Bookout, his bride Caroline Bookout, Step-daughter Brenda Walton and Brother L.D. Bookout.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his grandchildren. Dubby Bookout and wife Kirsten their children Eli, Wyatt (Wild Man) and Blake (Little Cowboy). Jennifer Villanueva and her husband their children Destiny (Peaches), Breanna (Apricot) and Tommy (Chubbs) Brown. Dustin Walton and his children Dustin and Bailey. Twin brother Lloyd Bookout and his wife Marie. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ed (Jos B) Juarez and family. Dr. Dustin Raber and staff.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery 19811 S. Cedar Ave. Laton , Ca. Per Floyd's request no flowers.
