Lucille "Lucy" Ida Houston, 97 of Hanford passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014. She passed on her birthday allowing her to turn the beautiful age of 97!!! Lucille was born to Jerome Aaron and Bertha Hildred (Gould) Rowe on February 22, 1917 in Ashland, Oklahoma. Lucille passed away at Kaweah Manor in Visalia. Lucille was raised with her younger brother and sister; Alvin Rowe and Christine Rowe Twilling. Lucille graduated from Hollister High School in 1935.
On September 25, 1938 in Hanford, California Lucille married the love of her life; Wilton F. Houston and they were happily married until his passing in 1982. Together they had two sons; Ronald and Gerald Houston. Some of Lucille's life passions were bowling, watching baseball and mostly spending time with her beloved family. She was a 60 year member of the Lucerne Chapter #13 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was involved in the Kings Election Board and the TB Association. She was a member of the Hanford Presbyterian Church for many years.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; Jerome and Bertha Rowe, her loving husband of 44 years; Wilton Houston and her brother; Alvin Rowe.
Lucille is survived by her two loving sons and their wives; Ronald and Sandy Houston of Hanford, California and Gerald and Diane Houston of Visalia, California. Lucille will always be cherished by her 5 grandchildren; Brian, Bradley, Jennifer, Michael and Kimberly Houston. Lucy is also survived by her sister Christine Twilling of Sacramento, California.
