Raymond Gomez(1919-2012)

Raymond Gomez, 93, was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico on September 1, 1919 to Andres and Guillerma Gomez. He was one of 11 children. Raymond passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 9, 2012.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Raymond joined the U.S. Army in 1944 and served his country proudly in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and GI Forum.
Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Alice Valles Gomez; daughter, Patricia Serna; granddaughter, Lynn Borbolla and great-grandson, Jeriko Viduarri. He is survived by his 4 daughters and 2 sons, Martha (Rufus) Acosta, Robert (Peggy) Gomez, Rebecca Olson, Michael (Denise) Gomez, Mary (Rudy) Alvarado and Margaret (Ralph) Borbolla, all of Hanford, California. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind 3 sisters and a brother; Antonia Garcia, Mary Casarez, Josephine Chaparro and Willie Gomez, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 8:30a.m.-9:30 a.m. with rosary at 9:30 a.m. at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Home, 100 Bush St. Hanford, CA. Graveside services will follow 10:30 at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Service.
