Alicia Winningham Obituary

Alicia Marie (Oliveira) Winningham passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at her home in Fremont, Calif. at the age of 48. Alicia was born in Hanford on November 19, 1962 to Ed & Gail Oliveira. She attended Central Union School, graduated from Lemoore High in 1980 where she played in the band and ran cross country. She attended West Hills College in Coalinga where she earned her Associate's degree. Alicia was a corporate staffing manager for a software company in Palo Alto. She loved to travel with her husband Dan. Her favorite place to travel was Italy. She had a fond love of the Italian culture, food, language and architecture. She would spend time looking at Zagat's for new restaurants while visiting other countries. She loved foreign cuisine. Alicia loved the excitement and vitality of big cities, especially New York and San Francisco. She loved attending Broadway plays and visiting museums. Alicia enjoyed to go camping and her favorite pastimes were going to the movies and being with her grandson Taj. Another special place she loved was the beach and hearing the ocean waves. Alicia was a beautiful person and loved by everyone who knew her. She was very generous, kind and giving.
Alicia is survived by her loving husband of 17 years Dan Winningham of Fremont, her daughter Amy and husband Robert Gallow, her cherished grandson Taj who was the love of her life. She is also survived her parents Edward and Gail Oliveira of Lemoore, 2 sisters: Gina & husband John Bumpass of Lemoore and Kristi & husband Bryan Berna of Hanford; 2 nephews: John Edward Bumpass & Bryson Berna, 5 nieces: Kelsie Tuman, Chassidy Berna, Hannah Berna, Sarah Bumpass & Laynee Berna. She was preceded in death by her niece Jaimee Bumpass and her grandmother Virginia Pollard.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. Graveside Service will immediately follow at Lemoore Cemetery. Friends who wish can make donations in Alicia's memory to College America 529 Plan- Taj Mann Singh, Acct# 84124 06-1003, American Funds Service Co., P.O. Box 6273, Indianapolis, IN 46206-6273.

I cannot even imagine the enormity of your grief in coping with the sudden loss of of my friend Alicia. My heartful condolences and prayers go out to your family. Alicia was the sister I never had.
