Alvin "Alvino" Billy Duarte was born on June 27, 1927 to immigrants parents of Portugal, Sylvester and Mary Duarte. He was the youngest and the last surviving of twelve children.
Since the young age of 12 Alvin knew what hard work was all about. While attending Grangeville School he worked on the family farm which is located on Fargo Avenue to this date. Later in life he worked for several farmers, finally settling at Clark Home Dairy where he worked for over 40 years.
On August 1, 1951 he married the love of his life Eleanor Lydia Fairfield, who preceded him in death June 17, 2011. Together they raised two children.
He is survived by his son Alvin Rodney Duarte and wife Lois. Grandson Alvin Michael Duarte and wife Brittany. Granddaughter Stephanie Cheyenne Duarte. Daughter Brenda K. Duarte and Fiancé Jim Randall. Granddaughter Kayla Repnicke Duarte. He also leaves behind one brother-in-law Richard Fairfield and wife Pat of Visalia. One sister-in-law Mary Esther Fairfield Smith and Husband Ed of Fresno. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews and numerous close friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings Joseph, George, Manuel, Tony, Johnny, Belmead, Luchille, Delphia, Rosie, Angie, and Mary.
Alvin will best be remembered for his loving generous nature. He will be missed dearly by all.
Alvin B. Duarte and Eleanor Lydia (Fairfield) Duarte wonderful parents together again. Rest in peace. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 12:00 at Calvary Cemetery.
