Ellen married her high school sweetheart, George Freitas on November 9, 1951 and they raised their family in Coalinga and Taft California. They were married for 25 years and had three children Ron, Stan and Peggy, a daughter-in-law Georgia and grandsons Tony and Ronnie. George passed away on July 19, 1976. Ellen then went to work at the Taft city schools. During this time Ellen's family was joined by another daughter-in-law Tracy, son-in-law Bryan and granddaughter Melissa.
Ellen fell in love once again and married Larry Brannon on December 26, 1979. During these years they were blessed with six more grandchildren: Alison, Brittany, Sherena, Courtney, George and Zachariah. After Larry and Ellen retired they settled in Lemoore and raised three of their grandchildren.
They attended Hanford Church of Christ where Ellen and Larry were very active and volunteered at the Valley Christian Home leading weekly devotionals. Ellen was a dedicated Christian, always encouraging others and sharing the love of Christ. She led by example and had a faith that was unshakable. After the children graduated, Ellen and Larry moved to Hanford where they continued their work with Valley Christian Home and remained devoted to their loving Church family. After 32 years of marriage, Larry passed away on November 9, 2011.
Ellen traveled to visit her family all across the country. She was an amazing woman dedicated to family, loved by all and forgotten by none. She loved all who came into contact with her and was a Mom and Grandma to many during her life.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha Fraley, all of her brothers, sisters and her two husbands George and Larry. She is survived by her son Ron Freitas, his wife Georgia, son Stan Freitas, his wife Tracy and daughter Peggy Freitas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. They all will miss her greatly and carry her in their hearts forever.
The family would also like to extend a huge thank you to the Hanford Church of Christ for all their love and support during Ellen's illness. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Robert Woods, Liza Johnson and staff for going the extra mile for Ellen with great care and love. Ellen loved you Dr. Woods!
