Lela Mae Freitas, 77, of Hanford, CA was surrounded by her loving husband, son, daughter and caregiver as she was received by our Lord and Savior on April 29, 2012 after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Born 9/23/34 in Hardwick, CA to the late King and Myrtle Elliott, Lela was the youngest of three siblings; Edward, Ruby and Robert.
At age 17, on 9/5/52 Lela married the love of her life – Stanley Freitas. Together they raised two children; Diana and Stanley Jr.
As a Homemaker, Lela took great pride in caring for her family and home. She loved to cook, sing, dance, vacuum and chance her luck (and she was lucky!) at the Palace playing Flaming 7's. Lela was a long standing member of the Cabrillo Club, devoting many hours and efforts in her role as Director these past 12 years.
Lela is deeply loved and missed by her husband of 59 years; Stanley. Her son Stan Jr. and his wife Alisa, her daughter Diana and her husband Mark Coelho, Grandchildren; Blake, Becca & Ciena Freitas, Mark Jr. & Lisa Coelho, Tori & Matt Oliveira, Great-grandchildren; Blaine, Peyton, Logan, Colton Oliveria, Darby, Brittany & Haley Coelho, Sisters-in-Law; Bobbie Keenan, Geri Clement & Joyce Elliott, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family meant everything to Lela. Nothing brought a quicker tear or made her smile more than when she spent time with those she loved.
Lela is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and In-laws Mike and Elsie Freitas.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, 100 West Bush Street, Hanford, on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:30PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 200 East Florinda Street, Hanford, on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 South 10th Avenue, Hanford.
