Roy Slaton Obituary
He was born in Commerce, Texas and raised in Sweetwater, Texas. Roy enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and served in Korea. After his military service, he operated a backhoe business for several years. In 1967 he went to work for Leprino Foods. Roy worked for Leprino for 30 years serving in several different locals.
After retirement, he was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing. Roy belonged to the York Rite Masons, El Jebel Temple and the Golden Fleece Lodge, #205. He was also a past member of the SIR (sons in retirement), a golfing organization.
Roy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jo Slaton of Lemoore; 1 stepson, Michael Slaton and a stepdaughter, Sharri Nelson and husband, Mike all of Albuquerque, NM; 2 brothers, Travis Slaton and wife Joyce of Sweetwater, Texas and Robert Slaton and wife Kay of Conro, Texas; 1 sister, Brenda Ware and husband Bud of Wink, Texas; a sister-in-law; Susan Quinn and husband Denis of Bronx, NY and many extended family members.
Roy was preceded in death his parents, Audis and Georgia Slaton, a son, Ronnie Slaton and a brother, Wayne Slaton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday at Phipps-Dale Chapel. Burial will be in the Lemoore Cemetery.
Remembrances may be sent to the Lemoore Christian Aid, 224 N. Lemoore Ave., Lemoore, CA 93245.
