Vivian Roberts Obituary

Vivian Jo Manker Roberts was born on September 4, 1930 in Sasawka, Oklahoma. She passed away at home, surrounded by family on October 2, 2010.
Vivian moved from Oklahoma to California with her family during the Great Depression. She graduated from Porterville High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Roberts in 1948. They made their home and raised their children in Southern California before settling in Selma, California in 1969. Jerry farmed forty acres of raisins while Vivian began working outside the home for the first time. Vivian retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Laton Post Office in 1996 after more than 20 years of service.
Vivian enjoyed bowling, music, dancing, crafting, entertaining and anything pertaining to her family. Her innovative "Creations by Viv" crafts and gifts were frequently sold at craft fairs as well as roadside at her home. She had many repeat customers who visited her every holiday.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 2007, and her sister Helen Oden this past September. Vivian is survived by her four children; Tamara Lamoreaux and her husband Steve, Marc Roberts and his wife Kayreen, Kim Hull and Sondi Roberts as well as her ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Vivian's life will be held on October 11, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at her home in Selma.
