Joe R. Lopez, Sr. aka "Joe the Bandit" passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012, in Hanford at the age of 82. Joe was born in Compton, California. He lived in the Kings County area for over 40 years. Joe farmed many acres in Lemoore and Hanford. During Joe's farming years he was also a laborer contractor. Joe gave hundreds of people the chance to become employed and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Joe is survived by 10 children. Emily Posos of Buena Park, CA, Antonio Lopez of Visalia, CA, Nelly Lopez of Mexicali, Mexico, Jerry Eller of Sedalia, MO, Virginia Garcia of Hanford, CA, Beatrice Diaz of Visalia, CA, Joey Lopez, Grant Lopez, Mitch Lopez, and Morgan Lopez all of Hanford, CA and predeceased by a son, Andy Lopez. Joe is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia. Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hanford. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
