HARLAN — Gloria Alisuag Tiu, 68, Harlan, wife of Dr. Gregory Tiu, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Lexington. She was born in the Philippines on July 17, 1946 to Andres Sr., MD and Dalmacia Alisuag. She moved to Kentucky 30 years ago. She was a devout Christian and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Harlan, KY. Gloria was a very loving wife and mother and model U.S. citizen. She attended the University of the Philippines on a music scholarship and earned a Nursing degree. She was an accomplished member of the UP Mixed Concert Chorus. She was also a strong supporter of UPMASA (University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society). As a young person in the Philippines, she was actively involved in social causes. During her nursing career in the U.S., she worked in both Kansas City, MO and Orange, NJ. Along with her loving husband of 33 years, she is survived by her mother; children, Giselle Marie, Georgianne Fay, Geraldyne Leigh, and Gregory Alan Tiu, Jr.; siblings, Linda Ramos, Andres Jr., Corazon, Carmelo, Tito, Marissa Alisuag, and Imelda Layman; and grandchild Genevieve Scarlet MacFarland. She was preceded in death by her father in 1974. Visitation was on Saturday, Dec. 13th from 5-9 pm and funeral service on Sunday, Dec. 14th at 2:30pm, both at Milward Funeral Directors, 1509 Trent Blvd., Lexington, KY 40515, Ph: (859) 272-3414. KITTS — Lee Arnold Laws, 80 of Kitts, KY went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at the Harlan ARH, after a brief illness. Lee was a well known resident of Harlan Co., he was married to the Late Brenda Sue Laws on Aug. 29, 1957 and only preceded him in death earlier this year on Jan. 12, 2014. He was a retired coal miner and wonderful & caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather whom loved his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Sue Laws; his parents, Frank Laws and Bessie Laws Clem; his brothers, Floyd, Frank, and Philip Laws; sisters, Maxine McGill, Trelma Thomas, Helen Dickey, and Bonnie Cash; a daughter, Susan Marie Laws. He is survived by his 3 sons, Michael (Cathy) Laws of Kitts, Dale (Sally) Laws of Calvin, and Mickey Laws of Kitts; 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Danielle) Laws, Amanda Laws and fiancé, Josh Adams, Leanna (Corey) Miller, Travis Laws and Catherine Laws. 2 great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Kaitlyn Raeann Miller and Nelliel Sophitia Adams; 1 sister, Ruby Skeens of Grundy, VA; 1 brother, Fred Laws of Toledo, OH. Visitation will be held Monday (Dec. 15) from 5 until 8:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home and after 12:00 pm Tuesday until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday (Dec. 16) in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith. Pallbearers will be Travis Laws, Corey "Sam" Miller, Eugene Douglas, Gary Laws and Bob Muncy. PATHFORK — Cinda Craig Lee, 71, of Pathfork, departed this life for her Heavenly Home on Friday, December 12, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Pathfork and had lived here most of her life. Cinda was a loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the Pathfork Holiness Church. Cinda was preceded in death by her husband, Sillous Lee; her parents, George Craig and Nancy Moore Craig; four sisters, Betty Ruth Cottrell, Cleo Smith, Laura Faye Craig and Louise Rice; and four brothers, Robert, James, Sherman and Ike Craig. Survivors include three children, Myra Veronica Ledford, and husband Bobby, of Pathfork; LaCosta Lee Moore, and husband Derrick, of Pathfork; Morgan Lee, and wife Marina, of Wallins; three grandchildren, Alexis Moore, Noah Ledford and Gracie Ledford (Cinda was expecting a fourth grandchild); two brothers, Charles Craig, Pathfork; and Danny Craig, Cass City, MI. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; and others who were special to her such as Brandie Daniels, whom she loved as a grandchild. Visitation for Cinda Craig Lee will be held Monday, December 15, from 5-10 pm at the Pathfork Holiness Church. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 16, at 1 pm at the Pathfork Holiness Church with the Reverend Everett Eads, Reverend Robert Lee and Reverend Michael Wilson officiating. HARLAN — Rebecca Shepherd, 83, of Harlan, went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 11, 2014 from the Harlan ARH with family by her side. Rebecca was born Oct. 27, 1931 in Leslie Co., KY to the late Elhannon and Emily North Nantz. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Shepherd; 2 son-in-laws, Ronnie Hensley and Henry Middleton; 2 grandchildren, Henrietta Middleton and Jerry Edwards, several brothers and sisters. Those left to celebrate her life are her 4 loving children, Sheldon (Evelyn) Shepherd of Akron, OH, Sharon Middleton of Evarts, Helen (Woodroe) Smith of Smith, Ann (Allen) Fultz of Loyall; stepson, John (Charlotte) Simpson of London, KY; a granddaughter whom she raised, Bekki (James) Craig of Harlan; brothers, Paul Williams of Harlan, James Williams of Mt. Vernon, Joe (Nancy) Williams of Cincinnati, OH, Cornia (Dillis) Whitehead of Asher; sister, Barbara (Caleb) Napier of Casey, KY; she was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and her loving church families. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 from 6 until 10:00 pm at the Teetersville Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 Sunday Dec. 14, 2014 at the Teetersville Church of God with Bro. Terry Adams, Bro. Gary Craig, and Bro. Tim Goshen officiating. Burial will follow in the Rye Cove Cemetery at Warbranch (Leslie Co.) Ky.
