LYNCH — Louis Dean Marshall Sr., age 78, of 57 Gap Branch, Lynch, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, following a long illness.
He was born on September 18, 1935, unto the union of the late Ed & Ellen Crutchfield Marshall. He was an E-6 Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and worked for International Harvester in Benham, Kentucky as an electrical repairman.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Stewart Marshall, sister, Marthena Bennett, brother, James H. Marshall and grandson, Chris Hall.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a son Louis D. (Sherry) Marshall Jr., of Lynch, KY, three daughters, Sue Ellen (Taylor) Hall & Elisheba (Brandon) Compton all of Lynch, KY and Sheba (Jeff) Ramsey of Harlan, KY, grandchildren, April (Kevin) Jump of Harlan, KY, Wesley Colinger of Fort Bening, GA, James William Colinger & Fiance Brooke Glover of Paducah, KY and J.J. Ramsey of Harlan, KY, Samantha Arwood of Lynch, KY, great-grandchildren, Blake & Carlye Jump of Harlan, KY and Emilee & Brayden Compton of Lynch, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lynch, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Cumberland Church of God with Rev. Ronnie Mounts, Rev. Ronnie Doyle & Rev. Rick Cope officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Benham Cemetery at Benham, KY.
Pallbearers will be son-in-law & grandsons, special friends, Jerry Edwards and Jacob Dixon.
