GRAYS KNOB — Doyle Wayne Engle, age 65, of Grays Knob, KY passed from this world after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, July 25, 2014 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He served his country in the US Army and is a Vietnam Veteran.

After his discharge from the Army he became a Coal Miner and served as Foreman with Dixie Fuel Coal Company for twenty years.

Doyle was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Engle and Minnie Helton Engle; his brother, Gerald Engle and two sisters, Wylene Helton, Lucille Fox and a nephew, Roger Greene.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Engle of Grays Knob KY; two sons, Chris and Derrick Engle both of Grays Knob, KY. His brothers Leon Engle of Rosspoint KY, Eulis Engle of Illinois, R.J. Engle also of Illinois, and sister, Wyvonna Greene of Corbin KY. One grandchild Jessica Bailey and three step-sons, Jeremiah Johnson, John Ben Swanson and Derek Hensley.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 28, at 8:00pm in the Chapel of Henson and Rich Funeral Home with Reverend Don Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday July 28, 2014 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at

Henson and Rich Funeral Home.

Burial will be Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00am at Grays Knob Cemetery with Military Honors by Harlan County Honor Guard.

Henson & Rich Funeral Home is in charge of services.
