KENVIR — James William "Jabo" Madden, 69, of Kenvir went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Johnson City, TN. Born July 29, 1944 at Kenvir, he had lived here most of his life. He was a disabled veteran having served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps. He believed in the Holiness faith and enjoyed and was thankful to many area churches for their love and prayers.

Jabo was preceded in death by his parents, George Madden and Eileen Hensley Madden; three brothers, Shelby Madden, Ronnie Madden and Donnie Madden; and a nephew, Thomas Isaac Madden.

Survivors include three brothers, Winston Cox Madden and wife, Linda, Kenvir; Lee Otis Madden and wife, Louise, Scottsville, KY; George Madden, Jr. and wife, Mickey, Louisville, KY; a sister, Thelma Jean Barnes, Mt. Washington, KY; a sister-in-law, Edith Madden, Evarts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Long and the Reverend Buddy Simpson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Madden Cemetery at Kenvir with military rites by the Harlan Honor Guard. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
