MANCHESTER — Alma Cope, age 84 of Manchester and formerly of Benham, KY, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Laurel Creek Healthcare in Manchester. She was born in Lynch on December 12, 1929 to the late Ernest and Maud Wade Lackey. Alma was a homemaker and member of the Benham Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cope; brother, Ernest Lackey, Jr.; and sister, Velma Neal.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Tammy Whitis and husband, Carvel, and Mary Jane Clark and husband, Gene, all of Manchester, KY; brothers, Wallace Lackey of Columbus, IN and Bobby Joe Lackey of Talladega, AL; sister, Phyllis Semons of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Chuck McKnight, Paige Lush, and Drew Clark; great grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah, and Joseph Lush, and Kash McKnight; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Saturday, March 15, 2014, between 11 am – 1 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm with the Reverend Jody Vansickle officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
