Alonzo Edward Turner Jr.

Alonzo Edward Turner Jr. 69 of Bledsoe passed away Monday September 2, 2013 at his home.

Alonzo was born on November 12, 1943 Harlan, KY to the late Alonzo Turner Sr., and Gladys Mayre Hyde Turner. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served his country his country during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Forestal (CV-59) and was on Board when the ship was ravaged by fire, United States Senator John McCain was also aboard, he also proudly served on the USS Intrepid (CV-11)USS Constellation (CVA-64). He was the retired owner of Turner's Repair Shop in Lawnvale.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents John L Turner & Alice Turner, Lloyd & Mary House Hyde and two sisters, Sandra Sue Turner & Mary Alice Turner; sister in law Brenda Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Hancock Turner; his sons, Johnnie Turner, United States Air Force (Germany) and Dylan Turner; 2 daughters, Saretta and Cassandra; 6 grandchildren, Larissa, Jessica, and Nicholas Turner, Nicholas, Jeremiah, and John Prather. 1 great grandchild; his loving brothers Clark B Turner & (Irene) Wallins, KY, Johnnie L Turner & (Maritza) Baxter, KY, Calvin Turner & (Barbara) Franklin, IN, Mike Turner Shelbyville, IN, Jimmy Turner Harlan, KY, Paul Turner & (Ginger) Coldiron ,KY, Ralph Turner & (Leann) Bledsoe, KY, Husky Turner & (Anna) Bledsoe, KY; Loving sisters Marilyn Pollitte & (Vic) Lewisville, TX, Lesia Lampkin Orlando FL. He leaves many nieces and nephews of his brothers and sisters and his Loving Aunt, Christine Turner Harlan, KY.

Visitation will be Friday September 6, 2013 from 6 until 9:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

A Brief funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Burial will be 1:00 pm Saturday in the Turner Family Cemetery, Bledsoe with Military Honors being observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
