BAXTER — Constance Johnson, age 64 of Baxter, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Harlan ARH. She was born Thursday, March 3, 1949 in St. Charles, VA. She was a homemaker a member of Cornerstone Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her paternal parents, Ernest and Lillie Scott and her adoptive parents, John and Ira Stigall; a brother, Billy Roark and a grandchild Marley Chippewa.
Survivors include her husband James Johnson of Baxter, KY; three children, James Johnson of Harlan, KY, Sandra Ortiz and husband James of MI, Peggy Scott and husband Doug of Duffield, VA; four brothers, Ernest Scott, Sr., Roy Scott, and Wayne Scott all of St. Charles, VA and David Scott of Pennington Gap, VA; two sisters, Sue Gibson of SC, and Carolyn Scott of Barbourville, KY; six grandchildren, Christine Henderson, James Johnson, Paula Johnson, Brittany Ortiz, Hayley Ortiz and Carley Scott; and two great grandchildren, James Johnson and Elijah Chippewa. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Henson and Rich Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Mills and Reverend Spencer Burkhart officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Park-Howard Cemetery in Wallins, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
